An old metal pipe, with a hole in the side. I liked the pattern of the ruts in it that was broken up by the hole.

I'm back from Denver - this is a shot of my sister and her kids that was taken this morning. This is about all of the family stuff for a while, I know it's boring. I was just not excited about photography at all and I didn't get out to shoot all weekend except a couple shots of the family. I have to try something new, but I haven't decided what.

My niece, Valerie, holding my sister's newborn girl Emma. I had better shots but I just picked one of the first I saw on this PC.

I missed a few days because we came to Denver to visit my sister and her newborn baby. I got to use the public computer here, and I must say, I'm lost without Photoshop. Two pictures today to make up a little, the first is a statue we found along the way in Pagosa Springs and the second is my niece. I'm going to let the EXIF slide, as I'm too lazy to find out the data for these shots, and I used RSE to convert them from RAW.

A mock-up poster I made in the style of the RideBMX ones they give out for free in the magazines. I hope no one in the magazine sees this, they'd slap me for making such an abomination and putting the name of their mag on it :p

  • Camera: Canon 350D
  • Lens: Tamron 28-75mm 2.8
  • Aperture: 3.5
  • Shutter: 1/200th

Shaking leaves. This wasn't taken today either, I sprained my ankle yesterday and didn't feel like limping around to take a picture today.

  • Lens: Tamron 70-210mm 2.8
  • Aperture: 32
  • Shutter: 1/13

A truck, used the zoom to make the zoom blur effect and tried to match it to the speed of the truck.

One of the kids in my neighborhood. This wasn't taken today but I processed it today. :P

The self portrait challenge on DPC inspired me to shoot this. More self timer action, and I like the long exposure effect so far so here's another with it. I took some pictures of other things today, but nothing great.

My friend messing around on his bike. He didn't land back on the pedals, by the way, it was just for show.

Me riding. Longish exposure to expose for the sky and get that 'ghost' effect on the subject.

  • Lens: Tamron 28-75mm 2.8
  • Aperture: 4.0
  • Shutter: 1 sec
  • ISO: 400

This is a challenge entry, but edited differently since Basic editing on DPC allows, basically, jack !@#$. Taken about an hour after sunset.

  • Camera: Canon 350D
  • Lens: Tamron 28-75mm 2.8
  • Aperture: 4.0
  • Shutter: 30 sec

Haven't been shooting much, but I wanted to try some processing methods so I took a shot from when I was in Roswell and did it. The original was not so hot, and it's fun to do high contrast type of edits, so here it is.

  • Camera: Canon 350D
  • Lens: Canon 50mm 1.8
  • Aperture: 1.8
  • Shutter: 1/4000th

I got my new bike! It's an '06 Specialized Fuse III. It was kind of hard to afford since I don't have a job anymore, but I sold my Ipod and got a tax return from last year and that helped. I really like it so far, but the aluminum cranks aren't the greatest, they catch my pants when I do rollbacks sometimes.

  • Camera: Canon 350D
  • Lens: Canon 50mm 1.8
  • Aperture: 5.6
  • Shutter: 1/60th
  • ISO: 100
